Big Brothers Big Sisters: Broadening the Reach

Our Connection

“Our connection with OneVine  has been both meaningful and impactful. They’ve helped fill important gaps in services for families who often face barriers to support. What we value most is how genuine and intentional they are—taking time to truly understand each family's situation and respond with care. Their vision aligns closely with ours, especially in our shared commitment to building support within the community. Partnering alongside them has made it easier to reach families in real, responsive ways when it’s needed most.”

Our Impact

Big Brothers Big Sisters Recommended Ruth is a single mom of three who immigrated to the U.S. decades ago and has worked hard to build a stable life for her family. Since the passing of the father of her children in 2021, she has continued to carry the responsibility of her family on her own. With one of her children living with a complex mental health condition, Recommended Ruth does everything she can to support him while caring for her other two children. She leans on her faith and continues to show up, even when things feel overwhelming.

  1. What was the main problem or challenge you were facing before using our service? While there are many resources available in the community, direct financial assistance is often limited, hard to access, or tied to strict requirements that not every family can meet. In this case, the family was navigating multiple challenges at once and doing everything they could to stay stable. The support provided helped ease some of that pressure during a difficult season and offered a sense of relief that things didn’t have to be handled alone.

  2. How has our product/service helped improve their situation? The support helped ease some of the immediate financial stress the family was facing, which gave them space to focus on their well-being and care for one another. It wasn’t just about covering expenses—it was a reminder that they weren’t alone and that people and programs are willing to step in during tough times. It gave them a chance to fill their cup, reset, and continue tackling the challenges in front of them head on.

  3. Would you recommend our service to others, and if so, why? Without a doubt. Aside from help not always being accessible, it’s often transactional. What made this experience different was how intentional and thoughtful the support felt. It wasn’t just about meeting a need—it was about taking the time to understand the situation and respond in a way that felt human. That kind of care can go a long way for a family trying to hold it all together.
